Setting up Metabase requiries setting one advanced parameter in the BigQuery connection, the Alternate hostname field.

In order to get there, you must be either editing or creating a new connection, then scroll down to and click "Show advanced options", if you are not using them already:

Then, enter your assigned Alvin optimizer URL (https://<your-org-id>.opti.alvin.ai) in the "Alternate hostname" field, so it looks like this:

Next save your connection. That's it, Alvin is now integrated and ready to cut the cost of your Metabase queries!
